Photonic Bridges expands its Multi-service Transport Platform product line

4 June 2003 Atlanta Lightwave--Photonic Bridges, Inc. (Beijing) announced the expansion of its MetroWave Multi-service Transport Platform (MSTP) product line at SuperComm 2003 this week in Atlanta. The MetroWave MSTP integrates transport, access, and switching into one platform.

The first new product is the MetroWave 801 Multi-service Access Platform (MSAP), a compact and flexible OC-3/STM-1 or OC-12/STM-4 access unit that is designed to serve the small- to medium-capacity needs of building access for service providers or in private networks. The 801 MSAP supports a variety of access modules that enable service providers to tailor their equipment to more effectively meet customer requirements.

The second product, the MetroWave 8100/MC Multi-service Provisioning Platform (MSPP), integrates transport, switching and multi-service capabilities requiring high capacity, flexible traffic interfaces, and D/CWDM functions in central office applications. With line speeds up to 10 Gbits/sec and 60 or 180 Gbits of traffic processing capacity and the ability to groom E1 or T1 traffic flows, the product's ability to scale provides service providers with flexibility in designing modern multi-service networks. Service interfaces are available for standard PDH/SONET/SDH, ATM, IP/Ethernet and RPR traffic flows and future ASON/Intelligent Optical Networking capabilities.

"Our two new products take the variety and confusion of voice and data services found in modern networks and process them into well-managed, efficient, and reliable SONET/SDH networks."

"Our extensive experience also allows us to move rapidly from the idea stage to the product transformation stage, thus enabling us to provide the latest features to help our customers improve their competitive position."

Photonic Bridges will display and demonstrate its multi-service product line at booth 12541 during the 2003 SuperComm exhibition in Atlanta, June 3-5, 2003.
