19 November 2003 Ewing, NJ Lightwave -- Optellios Inc. is now offering the PC1000C, a complete, high performance, electrically driven, arbitrary-to-arbitrary polarization controller.
Available with standard SM or PM fiber, the PC1000C allows light with any input polarization state to be transformed to any other state of polarization. The device can be used to lock the output polarization to a fixed state regardless of the input polarization through active feedback control. It can also be used for Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL) measurements as well as a polarization scrambler.
The PC1000C is based on the company's patent-pending technology and provides high performance with no moving parts, ultra-low power consumption, fast and uniform random tuning, and a small footprint, say Optellios representatives. The PC1000C operates over the S-, C-, and L-bands, has no hystersis and low insertion loss, and operates from drive voltages as low as 3 V.
The company manufactures numerous high performance polarization control and detection products with common features such as small footprint, rugged design, and low power consumption.
