Mexican carrier Telgua signs multi-year lease agreement with New World Network, majority owner of pan-Caribbean network ARCOS

September 21, 2004 Miami -- New World Network, Ltd., the principal owner of the Americas Region Caribbean Optical-ring System (ARCOS), announced today that it has signed a multi-year lease agreement with Telgua, a telecommunication provider in Guatemala, which will significantly expand Telgua's high-speed IP connectivity in the region via the ARCOS fiber-optic network.

This agreement provides Telgua with carrier-grade IP services. New World Network IP transit service provides connectivity to the majority of the Tier 1 backbone providers through the broadband fiber-optic network using next generation routing technology.

ARCOS is an undersea broadband fiber-optic cable network connecting the U.S., Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The network has a hybrid ownership structure. It is co-owned by 28 carriers throughout the region, led by New World Network, the principal owner with approximately 88.2% interest.

"We're excited to have signed this agreement with Telgua and we look forward to supporting their ongoing requirements for IP services," said Fred Wiener, chief executive officer and president of New World Network.
