December 9, 2004 Cranston, RI -- Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), has expanded its data communication cable line to include the new multi-fiber MTP/MPO fan-out cables. Designed to save front-panel space and streamline fiber management, the MTP/MPO fan-out cables are supplied in both singlemode and multimode fiber. The MTP fan-out utilizes a 12-fiber MTP connector on one end and discrete connectors (LC, SC, FC, ST) on the breakout end.
The advantages of MTP/MPO cables include 12 times the density of SC connectors, a compact size, and low insertion loss. Color-coded connectors and custom labeling are available. ESL also supplies rackmount MTP quick-connect modules (cassettes) for extra-easy termination and transition of the MTP cable to the discrete connectors.
According to ESL, its quality-control process includes screening the fibers and ferrules at the beginning, skillful assembly, detailed attention to the polishing, and rigorous examination and testing. These high-quality cables are critical components in telecommunications, networking, broadcast communications, and many industrial control applications.
