Scottsboro Electric Power Board selects ETI'S Triad for service provisioning

June 14, 2005 Norcross, GA -- Scottsboro Electric Power Board, a power utility serving the Scottsboro, Alabama area, has selected ETI Software's Triad platform to automate provisioning of video services to its subscribers.

The utility chose the platform to provision both analog and digital television services as part of its conversion to a new billing system. The utility says the platform will enable it to support existing video technologies, while allowing it to add new services in the future.

"ETI's Triad will allow us to continue to support our existing analog customers while preparing us to offer digital services this fall," says Jimmy Sandlin, manager of Scottsboro Electric Power Board. "In addition to managing our pay-per-view schedule and feeding our billing system PPV purchases, Triad strategically positions us for future services. The other interfaces that ETI offers for Triad will also eliminate the manual provisioning process which would be encountered when we launch new technologies."

According to ETI, like its predecessor CableBridge, the Triad platform provisions digital or IP television video services to the subscriber. Additionally, according to the company, the platform provides "out-of-the-box" functionality to automate the complex process of provisioning FTTH or DSL services and voice switch technologies. The company says the platform eliminates multiple data entry points and service errors and delays associated with manual "swivel chair" processes.

"By deploying Triad, Scottsboro is not only meeting its immediate need to support instantaneous video services activation from its new billing system, they're [also] future-proofing their infrastructure," concludes Peter M. Pifer, CEO of ETI. "Utilities quickly realize the value in their investment value in Triad when our product enables them to rapidly support new services efficiently and cost-effectively, as they compete with the incumbent Telco or cable company."
