October 18, 2005 San Jose, CA -- Bookham announced today that it has completed its public offering of 11,250,000 shares of common stock, including 1,250,000 shares of common stock which were issued pursuant to the exercise of the underwriters over-allotment option.

The company issued and sold 11,250,000 shares at the public offering price of $4.75 per share. The proceeds of the offering to the company, net of underwriting fees, are approximately $50,200,000.

At completion of the offering and exercise of the over-allotment option, the company had approximately 45,055,000 shares outstanding.

SG Cowen & Co., LLC acted as the lead manager for the offering. Merriman Curhan Ford & Co. was the co-manager.
