Corrigent offers new platforms

SEPTEMBER 25, 2006 -- Corrigent Systems (search for Corrigent Systems) has released additions to its packet-transport offering, designed to provide the access component in Corrigent's end-to-end packet transport line.

The CM-104 is a compact fully redundant and modular Packet Transport Switch (PTS). The CM-104 PTS is six rack-units in height, and includes four horizontal user slots for all the generally available CM-100 User Interface Modules, including Ethernet, PDH, SONET/SDH, and storage interfaces. It supports 10 or 2.5-Gbit/sec network-side interfaces, and as the rest of the CM-100 product line, it is based on MPLS, RPR, and SONET/SDH to provide carrier-class packet transport. It is designed to provide a converged platform for operators offering a combination of carrier Ethernet, TDM, and Fibre Channel services.

The CM-21 Packet Transport Switch provides an Ethernet access platform for residential and business customers. The CM-21 may be subtended from Corrigent's CM-100 Ethernet user interface modules in ring, linear, and tree configurations. It provides 24 Gbits/sec of non-blocking switching capacity, making it ideal for bandwidth-intensive, interactive applications such as IPTV, VoIP, and video on demand, the company says. It supports a full suite of Ethernet E-Line and E-LAN services as defined by the MEF. The CM-21 product line comes in four different configurations, all in a single rack unit, supporting optical or electrical Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, including redundant AC and DC power options.

"The addition of the CM-104 and CM-21 product line to our family of packet-transport products allows us to address new markets and expand the reach of our packet transport solution," said Gady Rosenfeld, vice president of marketing for Corrigent Systems. "It allows more service providers to benefit from a converged metro/access packet transport network solution with unified end-to-end management."
