Pannaway inks deal with Etex Telephone Cooperative

APRIL 5, 2007 -- Etex Telephone Cooperative Inc. says it is deploying one of the largest triple-play service networks in Texas with Pannaway Technologies Inc. (search for Pannaway Technologies) SCN platform. Etex has further expanded its use of Pannaway products to provide 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10-GbE) transport services to hospitals and local businesses and intends to expand these services to other commercial establishments in its serving area to gain new revenues.

"We are very pleased with our choice of Pannaway Technologies from a number of
perspectives," reports Danny Kellar, general manager of Etex Telephone Cooperative.
"They are one of the only access companies with compelling next-generation technology today, an exciting roadmap for the future, and the personnel who demonstrate the commitment to take on any challenge to help Etex win in the marketplace. This is the sign of a true partner."

"We continue to find other applications beyond residential triple play that we can implement efficiently with Pannaway," adds Danny Johnson, assistant general manager of Etex Telephone Cooperative. "Etex is taking on quite a challenge in transitioning the Cooperative to a converged multi-service carrier, and we are fortunate that a company like Pannaway that offers both the technology and the dedicated and effective support that we need."

Etex has deployed network elements from Pannaway's entire product portfolio.
Managed by the Broadband Access Manager (BAM), Etex' residential triple-play network consists of the BAR, the BAS-300, and the BAS-500. Etex deploys the
Pannaway equipment in multiple applications, including central office, remote terminal, and fiber to the building. The BAR is used as a high-speed, standards-based, resilient IP transport ring. Both residential and commercial applications are served off multiple IP rings designed to provide maximum performance and reliability. Etex is one of the first customers to deploy Pannaway's 10-Gbit redundant and resilient transport interface on the BAR.
