euNetworks deploys private optical network for German ISP

JULY 11, 2007 -- euNetworks, (search for euNetworks), owner and operator of one of Europe's highest capacity fiber networks and provider of mission critical infrastructure and services, has concluded an agreement with German Internet service provider Aixit GmbH.

Per the five-year agreement, euNetworks says it will deploy a fully redundant private fiber network over which Aixit will provide a range of ISP and broadband services to its expanding customer base in Germany.

Aixit, one of Germany's fastest growing ISPs, says it required a highly available and scalable network, connecting Frankfurt's financial center to a redundant datacenter in the west of the city. euNetworks deployed its priva|nex, a high-availability and redundantly connected private fiber network, providing Aixit with a secure platform over which to deliver mission critical communications for its customers in the financial sector.

"Our business critically depends upon the reliability and quality of service to our customers," reports Holger Grauer, CTO of Aixit GmbH. "euNetworks, as owner and operator of one of Europe's highest capacity fiber networks, was uniquely positioned to provide us with our own dark fiber ring in Frankfurt--a carrier class, highly scalable infrastructure solution to support our growing customer base."

"In order to service their clients in the financial sector, Aixit demands the utmost reliability and scalability for their infrastructure," adds Noel Meaney, CEO of euNetworks. "As euNetworks owns and operates a private fiber network which traverses the financial districts in Germany, we were uniquely positioned to cost efficiently enable Aixit with the required solution."

As part of its priva|nex services offering, euNetworks enables service providers with the ability to lease or buy a full end-to-end metro or European fiber network infrastructure. The ever-increasing demand for new broadband-related products such as video on-demand, video conferencing, triple play, Voice-over-IP, digital and HD-TV is driving the need for telecommunication companies to upgrade to end-to-end fiber, say euNetworks representatives.
