ACOME to implement high-security network in Gonfreville-l'Orcher

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 — The cooperative service provider, La Communauté d'Agglomération du Havre (CODAH), selected ACOME to deploy a fiber to the home (FTTH) network in Gonfreville-l'Orcher, France. The network will include a "catastrophe information" service to inform residents of any accidents in Seveso, a classified industrial zone.

ACOME, with dealer Axione (Go Télécom), will furnish more than 100 km of fiber-optic cable to collection, service roads, and subscribers. The network will be high-security. ACOME promotes the fiber-optic network as inherently upgradeable and adaptable in infrastructure. Offerings include FTTH, point-to-point, and xPON for residential wiring and offset xDSL on fiber. Integrated services cover COD, HDTV, and video-surveillance options.
