JANUARY 8, 2008 -- Mindspeed Technologies Inc. (search for Mindspeed) and Jungo Ltd. (search for Jungo) have integrated Jungo's OpenRG) software with Mindspeed's Comcerto 100 broadband gateway processors. The integrated product targets operators that plan to fully utilize their fiber access network capacity to deliver media-rich services.

The integrated product is a high-performance, Gigabit Ethernet and voice-over-IP (VoIP) platform that designed to enable operators to offer their customers home entertainment applications such as high-definition IPTV and video on demand. The companies say the combined offering has been selected by OEMs such as JStream Technologies for their next-generation broadband gateway and broadband home router designs.

"When JStream was asked to provide broadband gateway solutions for one of the largest service providers in the world, we turned to Mindspeed and Jungo to bring these new products to market quickly," said Dr. James Chen, president and CEO of JStream Technologies. "Mindspeed's high-performance Comcerto 100 processor and Jungo's field-proven OpenRG software provided the right combination of speed and functionality for JStream to succeed with this and with future deployments at other service providers."

The Comcerto 100 broadband gateway processor powered by Jungo's software is designed to enable service providers to deploy sophisticated, reliable services with the high packet throughput required for delivering next-generation multimedia content to their subscribers. It offers intelligent data routing with quality of service (QoS), carrier-class VoIP, IPv6 support, virtual private networks with firewalls, as well as support for multiple emerging LAN and WAN technologies.

OpenRG is a scalable suite of software technologies that includes application programming interfaces (APIs) for a wide range of popular services and functions, including IPTV, home media distribution, WLAN, firewall, VoIP, IP-PBX, remote file access, and parental control.

OpenRG v4.9, supporting Mindspeed's Comcerto 100, is available for download from Jungo's website.
