EXFO releases enhanced cable assembly and component test system

FEBRUARY 27, 2008 -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (search for EXFO) has released the enhanced IQS-12001B cable assembly and component test system for production testing of cable assemblies and FTTX components.

According to the company, the new system now offers higher resolution to meet the latest FTTX market requirements for increasingly compact passive devices. It can precisely measure reflectance of very short PON components, such as PON splitters with 1-m pigtails, for all four relevant wavelengths.

New software tools, such as real-time monitoring and production history views, improve the quality of the finished good by providing a constant assessment of the manufacturing process, says EXFO.

The IQS-12001B Cable Assembly and Component Test System is fully compatible with the new IQS-600 and IQS-500 modular test platforms.
