European telco chooses Net Insight for DTT network
December 20, 2004 Stockholm, Sweden -- Net Insight, a provider of video, voice, and data networking equipment, announced that one of the major telcos in Europe has purchased Net Insight's Nimbra platform in order to build a network for digital terrestrial television. The network will be operational during the first half of 2005 and will distribute TV channels from 10 broadcasters.

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo chooses PacketFront's broadband technology
December 20, 2004 Tokyo, Japan -- PacketFront, a broadband infrastructure provider of open access fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology, has announced that it has joined with NEO Index Corp. and Soliton Systems KK to build the broadband network for the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so, Japan. The fully automated network will offer 300 hotel rooms and conference facilities a selection of "triple-play" broadband services -- TV/video-on-demand, telephony, and data.

Norwegian carrier selects Lumentis for fast triple-play broadband
December 13, 2004 Stockholm -- Swedish optical data and telecom solutions supplier Lumentis has received an order from the power and communications company Lyse in Norway. Lyse has ordered optical transmission equipment for its fiber-based triple-play broadband network that will enable tenants can get access to high-speed Internet, telephony, and digital TV in one socket.

German carrier installs ADVA SDH system
December 13, 2004 Martinsried/Munich, Germany and Mahwah, NJ -- noris network AG recently deployed ADVA's Fiber Service Platform (FSP) 1500 systems to support a two-ring, Gigabit Ethernet network throughout Germany. The carrier will use the new equipment to transport high-bit-rate Ethernet, data, and voice services quickly and inexpensively via its existing SDH network.

SunRocket taps Telco Systems to power Internet phone service
December 6, 2004 Foxboro, MA -- VoIP service provider SunRocket has selected the Access211 VoIP broadband Internet gateway from Telco Systems to be the official SunRocket plug-and-play "Gizmo," which enables subscribers to make and receive phone calls and faxes over broadband Internet connections using standard telephones and fax machines.

Alcatel awarded submarine and terrestrial optical network project in Guadeloupe
November 29, 2004 Paris -- Alcatel has signed a turnkey contract valued at 21 million Euros with Global Caribbean Network (GCN), a subsidiary of the Group Loret, to deploy a submarine cable network for the Regional Council of Guadeloupe. The project, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2005, will significantly expand the Guadeloupe telecommunications network capacity and will be very beneficial to the region's economic development.

Optical Solutions wins contract with BEK Communications
November 22, 2004 Minneapolis, MN -- Optical Solutions has been selected by BEK Communications of North Dakota for a multi-year plant replacement in portions of the cooperative's six-county service area.

Qwest Communications extends agreement with Internet2
November 22, 2004 Denver, CO -- Qwest Communications International Inc. will continue to provide optical and SONET network services to Internet2, a university-led research and development consortium that includes more than 300 U.S. universities, research institutions, corporations, and government agencies working together to create and deploy next-generation Internet technologies.
