Comcore releases 980- /1550-nm hybrid WDMs for EDFAs August 19, 2004 San Jose, CA -- Comcore Technologies Inc., supplier of fused fiber products, has announced the general availability of its newly developed 980- / 1550-nm WDMs. Mainly used in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), the 980- /1550-nm WDM can combine the optical signal at 1550 nm and pump power at 980 nm into one common output, which is then spliced to the erbium-doped fiber for power amplification.
