June 11, 2004 Eatontown, NJ -- Opnext, Inc. has extended its line of hot-pluggable 10-Gbit/sec (10G) optical subsystems with the introduction of the OP10SM-LR2 to the Optical Port Slide-In Module (OP10SM) Series. The OP10SM-LR2 supports applications at 1550 nm up to 80 km of fiber and, like each module in Opnext's 10G OP10SM Series, it maintains the SFI-4 system interface standard.
