Big Pipe chooses FiberNet for metro transport services
June 11, 2004 New York, NY -- FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc. announced that Big Pipe Inc., a provider of data networking and Internet services to North American businesses, has selected FiberNet to provide electrical and optical broadband connectivity services within the key carrier hotels in New York City, including 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue.

Omantel signs dual landing station agreement with FLAG Telecom and purchases capacity on FALCON cable system

DenseLight SLED deployed in optical networks.
21 May 2004 Singapore -- DenseLight Semiconductors says its superluminescent LED (SLED) has been deployed in optical networks carrying revenue-generating traffic. The company says their device is the only SLED accepted for deployment in carrier-class optical networking equipment.

Lucent Technologies to build intelligent optical network for Jiangsu Telecom
May 17, 2004 Beijing-- Lucent Technologies today announced a multi-million dollar contract with Jiangsu Telecom, a provincial subsidiary of China Telecom, to provide optical networking equipment that will be used to expand Jiangsu Telecom's optical transmission network in Jiangsu province.

GTC Telecom signs agreement to acquire TelSpan
April 27, 2004 Costa Mesa, CA-- GTC Telecom announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire TelSpan in a tax-free stock swap transaction. TelSpan, a California corporation, owns the rights to acquire out of bankruptcy, the fourth largest fiber optic network in Mexico, consisting of approximately 4,000 km of fiber-optic lines and other related assets.

Luminous Networks' multi-service transport network deployed in western China
