Blonder Tongue launches FTTH products
June 28, 2005 Old Bridge, NJ -- Blonder Tongue Laboratories has announced the release of their LightHouse series of FTTH products. The company says the products comprise a standards-based broadband delivery system optimized for multiple dwelling units, gated communities, and small municipalities.

US Conec moves to RoHS-compliance
June 27, 2005 Hickory, NC -- US Conec has announced the availability of RoHS-compliant components. The company manufactures singlemode and multimode MT-style and custom multi-fiber ferrules, including its MTP MPO-style connector family, as well as its Concours optical flexible circuits and fan-outs. The company also provides high precision molded parts for optical packaging, termination equipment for high-density fiber interconnections, and connector cleaning products.

Optical demarcation enclosure suits FTTX, MDU apps
June 23, 2005 Franklin, TN -- From AFL Telecommunications, the OptiNID(OPN)-1224 is an optical demarcation enclosure designed for use in either indoor or outdoor environments. The enclosure can house up to 24 bulkhead adapters in two of the company's 118 LGX-compatible adapter plates, and comes equipped with a splice tray, which holds up to 24 single fusion splices.

Ortronics rolls out enhanced OptiMo cable management system
June 21, 2005 New London, CT -- Ortronics/Legrand has introduced a new line of OptiMo fiber-optic products, including rack-mount fiber cabinets, fiber adapter panels, and cable management accessories. The company says the products incorporate improved cable management features while providing seamless integration with the company's Mighty Mo 6 copper and fiber cable management system.

Entrada Networks launches 16-channel CWDM-based optical platform
June 20, 2005 San Diego, CA -- Entrada Networks recently announced the availability of its 16-channel Metro Area Transport platform, based on CWDM technology including 8- and 16-channel modules that support 2.5-Gbit/sec data rates. The company says the platform, aimed at passive optical network service providers, enables the deployment of systems supporting high bandwidth build-outs in enterprise access and metropolitan area networks.

Versatile fiber connectivity products ease installation

Mini-MSPP targets metro Ethernet-over-SDH services
June 15, 2005 Petah Tikva, Israel -- ECI Telecom has introduced its BroadGate-40, a miniature multiservice provisioning platform (MSPP) designed for metro access and Wide Area Networks (WANs). The company says the platform's scalable architecture allows for the provisioning of carrier-class Ethernet services over SDH to meet the needs of medium and large enterprises, utility companies, and cellular operators.

Fujitsu launches multiservice access options for Flashwave 4020 ESP
June 14, 2005 San Antonio, TX -- Fujitsu Network Communications has upgraded its multiservice Flashwave 4020 Ethernet Service Platform (ESP) to support small form-factor pluggable (SFP) interfaces. SFP-based OC-3 and OC-12 base unit shelves are now available for the platform; each can be equipped with matching-rate SFP modules to support Long Reach (LR), Intermediate Reach (IR) and coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) requirements for converged access networks.

Passavé enhances EPON ONU SoC for FTTH apps
June 10, 2005 Chicago, IL -- Passavé, a provider of semiconductors for FTTH applications, has announced commercial availability of its third-generation PAS6201 EPON optical networking unit (ONU). The company says the device builds on its first and second-generation PAS6001 ONU chips, which it claims were the first IEEE 802.3ah-compliant EPON ONU devices to ship in large volumes.
