Cogent Communications opts for Hibernia Atlantic's wavelength service
July 15, 2005 Boston, MA and Washington, DC -- Hibernia Atlantic announced today that Cogent Communications, a U.S. Ethernet service provider and multi-national tier 1 ISP, has selected Hibernia's network to provide 10-Gbit/sec wavelength services from Boston to London, and to meet the provider's growing customer demand for trans-Atlantic capacity.
Telcordia rolls out FTTP general requirements

Equinix taps Force10 for 10-GbE IBX center upgrade
July 13, 2005 Milpitas, CA -- Equinix, a provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, has deployed Force10 Networks' TeraScale E-Series switches and routers in a 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10-GbE) upgrade to the provider's Internet Business Exchange (IBX) center in the Washington, D.C. area, with planned deployments to IBX centers in the New York, Silicon Valley, and Chicago areas by the end of 2005.
Romania's Astral Telecom picks ECI's XDM optical platform for 10-Gbit SDH network backbone
July 13, 2005 Petah Tikva, Israel -- ECI Telecom announced today that it has implemented its XDM Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) into the network of Astral Telecom, one of Romania's national providers of analog and digital cable TV, Internet, and voice services. The company says its XDM MSPP is already installed in the provider's national 10-Gbit/sec (STM-64/OC-192) SDH backbone network, connecting all of Romania's major cities, while providing next-generation services.
Atrica selects Xelerated's network processor for Carrier Ethernet products
July 13, 2005 Santa Clara, CA -- Xelerated today announced that its Xelerator X11 network processor has been selected by Atrica for use in next-generation Carrier Ethernet products designed to support carrier-class networks.
