ADC FTTX platform picked by Dakota Central Telecommunications July 12, 2005 Minneapolis, MN -- Dakota Central Telecommunications of North Dakota has installed ADC's OmniReach FTTX platform, in a deployment designed to manage the provider's fiber network. The provider, which serves the state's Carrington and Jamestown areas, says the platform will enable it to provide telephone, television and high-speed Internet services to the area's more than 17,000 residents.

ADVA Optical Networking wins McDATA OPENready certificiation to support 10-Gbit/sec connectivity up to 190-km July 7, 2005 Mahwah, NJ and Munich, Germany -- ADVA Optical Networking announced that it has passed OPENready qualification testing with McDATA, a provider of storage networking platforms. ADVA says its Fiber Service Platform (FSP) has been tested and is now qualified as interoperable with McDATA's Intrepid 10000 Backbone Director (i10K) for support of 10Gbit/sec inter-switch links (ISLs) over distances of up to 190 km at full bandwidth.

According to a press release, the new company, called NeoPhotonics, expects revenues to exceed $50 million in 2005, has more than 1200 employees (primarily in China and the U.S.), and has more than 100 customers, many of which are tier one network equipment suppliers.
