Tiscali International picks ECI Telecom for pan-European IP/MPLS upgrade April 7, 2005 Milan, Italy, Petah Tikva, Israel, and Richardson, TX -- Tiscali International Network, the carrier arm of Tiscali S.p.A., has chosen ECI Telecom's Enstara platform to upgrade its international IP/MPLS backbone. Announcement of the selction was made today by ECI, a global provider of advanced telecommunications products, and their partner, Chiaro Networks, the developer of the infrastructure-class IP/MPLS platform.
BTI Photonic Systems secures $2.5M in growth capital April 7, 2005 Ottawa, Canada -- BTI Photonic Systems, a supplier of metro edge systems that deliver broadband services connectivity to providers, announced that it has secured $2.5 million in financing from MMV Financial Inc. The company will use the funding to help increase its global sales and marketing efforts. The company also announced the addition of Marco Pagani to its Board of Directors. Pagani is the former president of Nortel's Metro Optical Division.

Amedia obtains $1.5M interim financing commitment April 6, 2005 Holmdel, NJ -- Amedia Networks, a provider of Ethernet broadband services for the "triple play" access market, has received an interim debt financing commitment of $1.5 million from an institutional investor. The bridge loan, which will accrue interest at the rate of 7% per year, will be secured and is expected to be replaced by long term financing. The company expects to close on the bridge loan this week, with proceeds being used for general corporate purposes.

Kansas's Elkhart Telephone chooses Wave7 for triple play FTTP network April 5, 2005 Atlanta, GA -- Wave7 Optics today announced that Elkhart Telephone of Kansas has selected the company's Last Mile Link (LML) system for the carrier's new FTTP network. Scheduled for completion in 2006, the network will provide a selection of 4-line per residence VoIP, 100-channel RF-video TV, and high-speed data services throughout the carrier's current subscriber base region of 1400 residential and business lines.
