Fujitsu adds global sales support for optical components
August 1, 2006 Tokyo -- Fujitsu Limited will open a European business support center for its optical components products based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in addition to an existing facility located in San Jose, CA. The company also is creating a new sales support organization in Singapore to handle the Asian market. The two new sales support sites will begin operations today.
AT&T expands its metro optical transport service
August 1, 2006 Bedminster, NJ -- AT&T today announced the latest expansion of its AT&T OPT-E-MAN managed metropolitan optical transport service to cover 22 additional cities. According to the company, this expansion brings the number of metropolitan areas where OPT-E-MAN is available to 41.

August 1, 2006 New York -- Verizon today released data to support its claim that the popularity of its ultra-fast, all-fiber-optic FiOS Internet service continues to climb. In the second quarter, FiOS Internet customers made up more than 25% of the 440,000 net new wireline broadband sales for Verizon, say company representatives.
Time Warner and Comcast complete Adelphia acquisition

Big Pipe taps Broadwing for 10-Gbit/sec network upgrade
July 31, 2006 Austin, TX -- Broadwing Communications today announced that Big Pipe Inc., provider of data networking and Internet services to North American businesses, has purchased an OC-192-based U.S. network backbone service from Broadwing. The 10-Gbit/sec of dedicated bandwidth provided by the upgrade will increase Big Pipe's capacity on three key routes: Seattle to San Jose, CA; San Jose to Chicago; and Ashburn, VA, to New York.
Korea Telecom Selects ECI's service edge routers
July 31, 2006 Petah Tikva, Israel -- KT Corp. (formerly Korea Telecom), Korea's leading telephone and Internet service provider, is deploying ECI Telecom's service edge routers on its metro Ethernet network. The ST200 routers, provided by ECI's Data Networking Division (formerly Laurel Networks), are slated for installation during the third quarter.
Net Insight receives order from European broadcaster
July 31, 2006 Stockholm -- Net Insight has received an order from a European broadcaster regarding a contribution network for video and data transport between several cities. The equipment will be delivered in August, and the network will be operational during September 2006.
