IEEE starts look at higher Ethernet speeds July 25, 2006 Mountain View, CA -- The Ethernet Alliance, an industry group dedicated to the continued success and expansion of Ethernet technology, today announced that the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.3 working group has formed the Higher Speed Study Group (HSSG) to evaluate the requirements for the next generation of Ethernet technology.

City of Loma Linda taps Alpha for FTTH, solar power July 20, 2006 Bellingham, WA -- Alpha Technologies Inc. announces the commissioning of the first phase of a 267-kW solar power plant for the City of Loma Linda, CA. When fully operational the power plant, based on photovoltaic technology, will provide over 430 MWh of electricity annually - enough to power 70 homes a year. The company also will provide backup powering products for the city's FTTH initiative.
