Juniper Networks demos 40G GMPLS with NTT Communications June 12, 2006 Sunnyvale, CA -- Juniper Networks, Inc., together with NTT Communications, announced that the Juniper Networks T640 core router successfully demonstrated Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) signaling to dynamically establish a OC-768/STM-256 Layer 1 network path between NTT Communications' Makuhari and Othemachi points of presence (PoPs). The demonstration was held at ShowNet during Interop Tokyo 2006, June 7 to 9 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
XO Communications helps Mid-Atlantic Broadband Cooperative to expand June 12, 2006 Reston, VA -- XO Communications today announced a multi-year agreement worth up to $3 million to provide dark fiber to the Mid-Atlantic Broadband Cooperative (MBC), an organization that is helping to bring advanced open-access broadband services to rural communities in Southside Virginia.
