June 27, 2006 Mountain View, CA, and Lod, Israel -- BroadLight, provider of passive optical network (PON) semiconductor and software, has partnered with AudioCodes, provider of voice-over-packet (VoP) technologies, and Legerity, provider of voice-over-IP (VoIP) equipment, to deliver an integrated VoIP reference platform that enables customers to add VoIP services on GPON optical network terminals (ONTs).

Fiberxon GPON transceivers now available
June 19, 2006 Santa Clara, CA -- Fiberxon has announced the availability of a new line of G.984.2-compliant optical transceivers. The GPON Class B+ family "can recover every bit" from the first bit of the incoming optical signal running in burst mode, according to the company.

Dry cloth cleaner aids FTTH applications
June 12, 2006 Hickory, NC -- US Conec announces the introduction and immediate availability of a dry cloth cleaning tool designed to clean oil and debris on singlemode APC outdoor hardened connectors such as the OptiTap connector from Corning Cable Systems. The cleaning tool was co-developed with NTT-AT and is an extension of the Optipop Reel Cleaner product line.

Sumitomo Electric Lightwave demos ribbon drop cable for FTTx
June 5, 2006 Research Triangle Park, NC -- Sumitomo Electric Lightwave today introduced what it claims is the industry's first ribbon drop cable for the last drop to the premises or home. Sumitomo says it designed the cable to allow for mass fusion splicing, quicker and easier gel-free cable entry, and faster fiber access through easy-peel ribbon technology, which increases the speed and number of both fusion splicing and connectorized terminations.

Charles Industries to introduce FTTx fiber pedestals at Globalcomm
May 31, 2006 Rolling Meadows, IL -- The Telecommunications Group of Charles Industries, today announced a new addition to its fiber distribution pedestal portfolio, the BDO-ET series. The BDO-ET series of fiber pedestals is designed to house and protect sealed fiber terminal blocks and pre-connectorized fiber-optic service drops in FTTx deployments.

ImmenStar launches integrated EPON switch chipset
May 31, 2006 Santa Clara, CA -- Two-year-old Silicon Valley startup ImmenStar today announced what it claims is the industry's first fully integrated high- density EPON switch chipset. Dubbed MuLan, the EPON switch chipset already is being shipped in volume to system vendors in five countries: the U.S., China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
