Superior Essex gains RDUP approval on fiber-optic drop cables
JULY 26, 2007 -- The newly listed Series 57 FTTP cables features an Optical Fiber Nonconductive Riser (OFNR) flame/safety rating from Underwriters Laboratories, which allows the cable to be installed outdoors as well as inside most commercial buildings and within typical residential buildings in the U.S., say company representatives.

ERF Wireless completes FTTH milestone
JULY 23, 2007-- In connection with its contract for the El Dorado Golf and Beach Club, ERF Wireless and its major subcontractor have completed the design, development, and assembly of the FTTH headend facility and successfully conducted the critical design review.

Mercury Development partners with Connexion Technologies on FTTH
JULY 19, 2007 -- Wendell Falls, located just outside of Raleigh, will have 4,000 homes and will be one of the largest master-planned communities in the Triangle area, according to Mercury Development. It will also boast an FTTH infrastructure, thanks to Connexion Technologies.

Sumitomo Electric Networks invests in YOTC
JULY 11, 2007 -- Per the agreement with YOTC, Sumitomo Electric Networks will hold an 18.9% stake in YOTC, and the YOTC board will have two members from Sumitomo Electric Networks. The two companies say they will collaborate on expanding the sale of GE-PON products in the Chinese market.

Chelan County, WA, claims milestone
JULY 11, 2007 -- Chelan County Public Utility District says it has hit a new milestone with fiber optics now available to over 20,000 homes, businesses, schools, and hospitals throughout this rural community in North Central Washington state.

Ericsson inks GPON contract in Cyprus
JULY 11, 2007 -- The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority has tapped Ericsson to provide GPON and point-to-point networking equipment for an FTTH deployment in Cyprus.

Connexion Technologies nabs three additional contracts
JULY 9, 2007 -- Connexion Technologies will build fiber-optic networks for three more properties: Livingston Ranch, a single-family community in the greater Yuma, AZ area (Kammann Development); Tuscany Villas at Painted Mountain, luxury town homes in Mesa, AZ (Mehan Construction); and The Plaza on Brickell, an upscale high-rise in Miami, FL (The Related Group).
